A Custom Humvee Is More Than Just a Truck

The HMMWV (Humvee) has been the military’s go-to utility vehicle for years. It rides higher than most trucks without being the tallest, which allows for a large cargo area.

This custom Humvee rolled across the Scottsdale auction block on Saturday at Barrett-Jackson. It’s been transformed by Danton Arts Kustoms and Frenchy Export. Click the Custom Humvee to know more.

The sale of this custom Humvee at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale is more than just a transaction, it’s a testament to automotive ingenuity. Michigan’s Mil-Spec Automotive waved the Stars and Stripes with this blinged-out 4×4, turning the utilitarian Army vehicle into a true off-road powerhouse. Starting with the base military HMMWV, MSA swapped out its anemic Detroit Diesel engine for one that’s capable of throwing down 1,000 lb-ft of torque. The result is a beastly armored workhorse that’s ready for anything the Apocalypse might throw its way.

The original drivetrain was ripped out in favor of a new, 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel that’s mated to a 6-speed Allison automatic transmission sending power to all six wheels. An auxiliary cooler, performance radiator and intercooler round out the upgrades under the hood that boosts output to an estimated 500 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque.

To keep things in check, the suspension was upgraded to FOX 2.0 performance shocks, a custom-valved steering system with a high-flow hydraulic pump and custom tie rods. The wheels are massive 27-inch BFG KM2 tires that are paired to Brembo brakes that can easily slow this behemoth on a steep 6% grade.

A few other touches make this Humvee more comfortable and useful for civilians than soldiers, including a fully custom interior featuring power accessories, a 450-watt Bazooka soundbar and a MOMO steering wheel. The exterior is also improved with a set of custom rock skid plates and front bumper guards.

The final touch is an aerodynamic spoiler aircraft wing that looks like it came off a modern F1 car and makes this HMMWV look more like something you’d see in a war movie than in the desert. With all the added muscle, this Humvee can now accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 43 seconds and fly to 87 MPH if it weren’t for its limited tire speed rating. That’s still more than enough for a fun day off-roading. The seller says this is the only H1 in existence and that it’s a perfect example of how versatile the Army vehicle really is.

Body

When you think of a Humvee, you probably imagine it carrying solders across the desert and into war zones. The rugged offroad vehicles have become synonymous with military might and have even inspired the popular civilian Hummer brand. But the original HMMWV, a product of defense contractor AM General, is no ordinary vehicle. Designed to meet the Army’s rigorous requirements, the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) has been tested by rocky hills, deep sand, 60in-deep water and arctic snow. It is a beast that can go anywhere and do anything, which makes it the perfect platform for extreme customization.

A perfect example of this can be found at Michigan’s Mil-Spec Automotive, a shop that waves the Stars and Stripes in its custom Humvee creations. To make this one-of-a-kind vehicle, the team swapped out the anemic Detroit Diesel engine and installed a more powerful 500-horsepower, 1,000lb-ft 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel. They also raised the truck by 3” and added a set of Black Rhino beadlock wheels with 37” Cooper Discoverer STR Pro tires. The cockpit is decked out with a Momo Prototipo steering wheel, JL Audio Premium Audio marine grade amplifier and a heated windshield.

The factory-correct Military Green body was handcrafted in all-aluminum and metal. The Humvee’s roof was chopped and the rear section cut down, not only to refine the shape but also to accommodate the 6×6 chassis configuration. The vehicle is equipped with power steering and 6-wheel disc brakes, as well as a modern LCD cluster. It is a combination of military-grade toughness and today’s automotive technology that is unmatched.

It is difficult to put a price on a vehicle this unique and this capable, but you can be sure it is not cheap. The HMMWV is a testament to the ingenuity and resilience of American engineering, and while it may be replaced in the future by something fancy called the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), this mighty offroader will live on forever as an icon of American power.

Interior

The HMMWV, or Humvee, as it is commonly known, was originally designed to keep soldiers safe and mobile in the most hostile environments. While these vehicles aren’t usually equipped with creature comforts like air conditioning and power seats, that doesn’t mean they don’t have their own unique style and functionality. Whether you’re looking to add more comfort or more convenience to your HMMWV, there are plenty of customization options available that can help make your vehicle stand out from the rest.

One of the most common ways to customize a Humvee is by upgrading the interior. This can include seat upgrades for added comfort, a modern dashboard, custom storage solutions, and more. These interior modifications can be a great way to personalize your HMMWV and reflect your own personality and style.

For example, this heavily modified HMMWV from the team at Black Dog Customs features a modern dash kit made of carbon fiber and black leather. The custom-built dashboard features a built-in GPS system and is designed to accommodate SpeedHut’s Humvee gauges (not included). This upgrade can be a simple and affordable way to give your Humvee a stylish new look, while also adding functionality and utility to your vehicle.

Another popular way to customize the interior of a Humvee is by installing custom floor mats and liners. These durable and easy-to-clean accessories can protect your vehicle’s interior from dirt, mud, and other debris that can easily ruin the look of your vehicle. They can also enhance the durability and life of your vehicle’s flooring.

Other popular interior upgrades for a Humvee include a custom-designed dashboard, a rear seat camera, and upgraded audio systems. These modifications can help increase the resale value of your vehicle and make it more appealing to potential buyers.

Regardless of how you decide to customize your Humvee, it’s important to work with a company that uses high-quality materials and experienced technicians. This will ensure that your modifications are done correctly and will last for the long term. This will also ensure that your HMMWV is safe and secure while driving on rough terrain.

Exterior

When the military Humvee first came on the scene in 1983, it quickly made its presence felt in battles all over the world. When the civilian version of this SUV was launched as the Hummer, it too became a huge success and has since become the focus of custom garages from all over the world that try to make these badass vehicles their own.

The team at Danton Arts Kustoms and their partner Frenchy Export took a 2009 AM General military Humvee and turned it into a 6×6 masterpiece. The exterior is still heavily reminiscent of the original, but with a much more rugged and extreme look. All six wheels are capped with off-road inspired tires that spin beneath a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 engine with 717hp connected to a 4L80E automatic transmission. A spoiler wing that is a custom-modified real aircraft wing adds an extra element of flair to this already stunning build.

How to Hire a Residential Roofer

Residential roofers work on single-family homes and multi-family housing complexes. They navigate through neighborhoods and access rooftops with ladders or scaffolding, while mindful of safety guidelines.

roofer

Besides installing and repairing roofing systems, these professionals can help homeowners with gutter systems and insulation. They can also recommend energy-efficient materials to save on utility bills.

Residential roofers perform a complex job that involves ascending to high elevations for the purpose of installing, repairing, or maintaining roofs. Due to the inherent dangers of such work, these professionals must adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations. Failure to do so can have disastrous consequences, including the potential for a construction injury lawsuit.

In certain environments, the drive to complete roofing projects quickly can influence decision-making in ways that jeopardize worker safety. For instance, some workers may view the act of climbing up and down to fasten safety harnesses or establish guardrails as an inconvenience that slows down overall productivity. However, it’s vital to approach such challenges from a more encompassing perspective. These precautions safeguard the lives of those who traverse elevated terrain for a living, and any short-term inconvenience is insignificant when compared to the immeasurable value of personal safety.

Whether working for a large corporation or their own business, residential roofers are expected to maintain stringent compliance with relevant safety regulations. However, such compliance can be difficult to achieve in the face of limited resources and time constraints. In some cases, lack of sufficient supervision or inadequate equipment may inadvertently communicate to employees that fall protection measures aren’t a major concern.

The NRCA offers an extensive collection of roofing safety resources for the benefit of its members and others involved in the industry. Among these are a comprehensive database of construction fatalities, ladder safety mobile applications, infographics and tipsheets, toolbox talks, videos and webinars, and safety leadership training. The NRCA also publishes various roofing guidelines and recommendations.

Falls can have devastating consequences for construction workers, and they’re especially dangerous when roofers are on the job. In fact, even a brief fall from a height of several stories can be enough to cause catastrophic injuries. That’s why NY state law requires construction sites to provide workers with adequate fall protection.

If you’re considering hiring a residential roofer, check their credentials to ensure that they’re licensed and insured. Additionally, look for a company with experience and a strong reputation in the industry. They should be able to show you previous examples of their work and provide references from satisfied customers. In addition, they should have a solid business insurance policy that includes liability and tools and equipment floaters.

Licensing

When hiring a residential roofer, you should check whether they have a state license. This is essential to ensure that you are getting a qualified and experienced professional. If you hire someone who does not have a license, you can be held liable for their work. In addition, it is a misdemeanor in many states to provide home improvement services without a license.

Licensing requirements vary by jurisdiction, but most include training, an exam, and a background check. Some states also require roofing contractors to have insurance and a bond. The most important thing to remember is that it is not legal to perform any roofing work without a license. If you are caught, you could face fines and/or jail time.

Licensed residential roofers can handle many different types of projects, including new roof installations, roof repair, and storm damage repairs. They are skilled in using a variety of materials and techniques, including asphalt and fiberglass shingles. Some even specialize in specific roofing systems, such as tile or flat roofs. These roofers often collaborate with other construction professionals, so they must have good communication skills.

In Arizona, roofing contractors must pass an exam and show a financial statement and proof of insurance to get a license. In addition, they must have liability and workers’ compensation insurance. They must also register with the Registrar of Contractors before beginning any roofing work.

Other states, such as Idaho, do not have licensing requirements for roofing contractors. However, they must register with the state to work in commercial or residential jobs. They must also carry general liability insurance and a $5,000 bond.

If you have a damaged or leaking roof, you can find local residential roofers online to help you. These contractors can assess your roof and make recommendations for repairs. They can also help you file an insurance claim and negotiate with your insurer. They also offer a job site support person who can answer questions and interface with the crew for you. In addition, these companies often have an online scheduling system, which can make the process more convenient.

Insurance

A good residential roofer has insurance to protect themselves and their clients. Roofing contractors should carry workers’ compensation, general liability and a surety bond. Workers’ comp insurance helps pay for medical expenses, disability benefits and death benefits if an employee is injured on the job. It also covers legal costs, court settlements and judgment awards if an employee is sued by a client over faulty work or injuries.

General liability insurance for roofers protects the company if property is damaged during a job. If a worker accidentally damages the customer’s home or business, this policy will cover repair and replacement costs. It also covers damages if an employee is dragged by a vehicle or falls from a ladder while working. A surety bond, which is also called a contractor bond, helps ensure that the roofer will complete a project after they accept it from the client. It is usually issued for a yearly fee and pays for legal fees, court costs or settlements if the roofer fails to finish the job.

Some states have specific requirements for roofing contractors, and they may require a specific surety bond before issuing a license to operate. Check your local government website to see what, if any, requirements are in place.

In addition to the above insurance coverage, roofing contractors should also have commercial auto insurance if they own a vehicle. This coverage is necessary if they use the vehicle for business purposes, such as transporting materials to the job site. Personal auto insurance will typically not provide coverage for these types of business activities, so it is important to have this separate policy. Errors and omissions insurance is another type of coverage that can help protect the roofing contractor from lawsuits if they make a mistake that causes someone to lose money. This type of policy will pay for legal fees, settlements and judgment awards if an employee, client or competitor sues over faulty work. It is critical that roofers carefully review their policies each year to ensure they are up to date on all requirements.

Pricing

Whether you need to have your roof repaired or replaced, a residential roofer can help you select the best materials and help you negotiate the price. They should be licensed and insured, with a good reputation and customer service skills. They can also advise you about insurance policies and home improvement projects, such as repairing siding and installing insulation. Some specialize in energy-efficient roofing and can help you save money on your utility bills.

Roofing companies often charge by the square foot, with the bulk of the cost attributed to labor. The type of roofing material and the complexity of the roof will affect costs. For example, a metal roof has higher upfront costs but can save you money in the long run through lower maintenance and repair costs. A skylight installation or chimney add-on will also increase costs. A professional roofer will consider the size of your living space and local weather conditions when estimating the cost of your new roof.

Small business roofers may have a smaller team and lower overhead than larger corporations. They usually don’t offer as many options or as much customer support, but they can provide a more personalized experience and are often more affordable. If you’re on a tight budget, this is a great option.

Larger roofing contractors have the resources to handle large and complex jobs. They can handle insurance and non-insurance jobs and often have multiple crews on hand. They’re able to offer longer warranties and high-quality materials at competitive prices. They can also be more flexible, with the ability to offer different types of financing options, including zero-interest financing.

In addition to liability and workers’ compensation insurance, a residential roofer should carry a commercial auto policy and a surety bond. These insurance policies can protect the roofer in case of property damage or injury to a third party, as well as provide the financial means for legal fees and settlements.

Choosing the right roofing contractor can make a significant difference in the overall quality of your home. A qualified and experienced roofing company will ensure that your roof is installed correctly, with the proper ventilation and insulation for your specific climate.

What to Look For in a Deodorant

Deodorant is a daily hygiene product that many of us consider essential, but it’s not always clear why. Some brands of deodorant claim to be natural, but these products may still contain propylene glycol or fragrance, two common irritants.

To help you find the best deodorant for you, experts recommend looking for one that is aluminum-free (doesn’t stop sweating) and gentle on your skin. This natural option from Native contains cyclodextrin to neutralize odor-causing bacteria and coconut and shea oil to keep your pits soft. Click the Website to know more.

Deodorants contain fragrances, natural ingredients and, often, alcohols to prevent odor. Some also contain acidifiers or pH neutralizers that maintain the skin’s natural slight acidity, which reduces bacterial action and helps to diminish odor. Other deodorants include antiperspirant ingredients like aluminum, which clogs sweat ducts to stop perspiration.

Sweat itself doesn’t smell, but a combination of body odor and bacteria creates a musty or fusty scent. Antiperspirants prevent body odor by inhibiting the production of a compound called keratin, which is responsible for creating that stench. In recent decades, makers of deodorant and antiperspirants have been able to greatly improve the effectiveness of their products by encapsulating active ingredients in time-release polymer enclosures that allow the chemicals to work over a longer period of time.

The best way to use deodorant and antiperspirants is to apply them after showering at night, which gives the formulas an opportunity to soak into the pores. If you do sweat a lot, especially in your armpits, reapply as needed during the day. If your skin tends to be sensitive, choose a less-aggressive product or opt for a natural option without the aluminum.

While it is true that some people can develop a chemical reaction to deodorant and antiperspirants, most do not. There is no evidence that these products increase the risk of cancer or other serious health problems. The rumor that aluminum in antiperspirants causes breast cancer originated from an email chain in the 1990s and is completely unfounded. There are no known links between aluminum and Alzheimer’s, either.

People with very sensitive skin should avoid both antiperspirants and deodorants that contain alcohols, which can dry out the skin and lead to a rash. In addition, those who have a condition called hyperhidrosis should only use a clinical-strength deodorant that’s designed to be as effective as possible for them. This type of sweating is usually caused by a hormonal imbalance and can be easily treated with medication and other treatments. However, the best thing to do is to talk with your doctor to discuss what’s causing your condition.

Prevents Odor

Deodorant does more than mask stink; it prevents body odor. It does so by neutralizing bacteria that creates and releasing unpleasant smells. It also often contains nourishing skincare ingredients like shea butter and coconut oil that reduce friction under the arms. In addition, a good deodorant will help to control perspiration, preventing the buildup of stinky sweat on the skin.

The armpits’ warm and moist environment is an ideal breeding ground for odor-producing microorganisms, such as corynebacteria, which feast on sweat and generate noxious waste by-products like short chain fatty acids. These noxious by-products give sweat its characteristically pungent odor, but previous deodorants didn’t address the problem at its source; they simply eliminated bacteria to avoid body odor.

Currently, the most common deodorants contain antiseptic ingredients that kill or disable the bacterial population in the armpits. This eliminates odor, but not the sweat itself, and so it’s important to use a combination of deodorant and antiperspirants for effective results.

Body odor is natural and normal, especially in kids who start sweating heavily at about the time they enter puberty, which usually happens between the ages of 8-13 for girls and 9-14 for boys. It’s important to teach kids about the proper way to apply deodorant so they don’t have unnecessary body odor problems.

Sweat itself doesn’t smell; it’s the bacteria that produce the odor when they break down proteins in the sweat. That’s why people with sensitive skin should avoid deodorants that contain harsh chemicals and instead stick with organic, vegan options made from natural ingredients.

Some deodorants also include an antimicrobial agent called triclosan, which is often used as a substitute for baking soda in deodorants because of its antibacterial properties. However, it has been linked to antibiotic resistance and is not recommended for everyday use. As with any product, a little experimentation is needed to find the best organic deodorant for your unique needs. Try a few and see which one gives you the best results, then make that your go-to. After all, smelling fresh is an essential part of feeling confident!

Prevents Skin Irritation

Many people get itchy armpits from a variety of things, including soaps and perfumes, so the thought of adding deodorant to the mix might make them squirm. However, it’s possible to find a formula that will keep you fresh and rash-free without irritating your sensitive underarm skin. Check the label and opt for a formula that’s free from any ingredients you know you’re sensitive to, like fragrance or talc. Similarly, consider choosing a moisturizing deodorant with shea butter or glycerin that keeps your underarms from getting dry. And if you’re using an aluminum-based antiperspirant, try one that’s formulated for sensitive skin to prevent irritation from the salts.

In contrast, a natural deodorant might contain plant-derived ingredients that are safe and gentle on the skin, such as tea tree oil or lichen extract, to provide odor-fighting properties, Hadley King, MD, clinical instructor of dermatology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University tells SELF. She adds that some of these formulas might also use arrowroot powder to absorb sweat and coconut oil to act as a skin conditioner. Shea and glycerin are also excellent choices for eczema-prone skin because they keep it moisturized, which can help prevent the irritation that can come with abrasions in your underarms.

While alum, an ingredient found in some natural deodorants, is mineral-based and won’t irritate the skin, it may not work well to stop underarm odor because it can leave behind a white residue on dark clothing. Instead, choose a natural deodorant that’s free from alum and talc and uses natural scenting agents such as bergamot, lavender, sandalwood or tea tree oils to provide freshness.

If you’re changing to a new deodorant, it’s important to switch over slowly. It takes a little time for your body to adjust to a new product and can prevent the itchiness that can occur when you change deodorants all at once. Try using your old deodorant on alternate days and gradually increase the amount you use of the new product to avoid a painful and itchy transition. If you’re still experiencing a reaction, talk to your dermatologist.

Keeps You Fresh

Whether you’re sweaty or dry, applying deodorant should be a non-negotiable part of your daily routine. But a quick glance down the deodorant aisle proves it’s not always easy to pick one: there are so many formulas, including gels and sprays in addition to traditional sticks, and countless scents. To help you narrow down your options, we’ve consulted our team of experts (including a board-certified dermatologist and an ACE-certified personal trainer) to find the best deodorants that actually work.

When it comes to finding the perfect antiperspirant, there are a few key ingredients to look for. The majority of the best ones contain zinc neodecanoate, which blocks sweat glands from producing moisture so you don’t smell, and sodium bicarbonate, which is great for eliminating odor-causing bacteria. Other helpful ingredients to look for include antimicrobials, which kill odor-causing bacteria instead of masking them, like triclosan and benzalkonium chloride; low doses of metallic salts like aluminum or zirconium; and natural fragrances and essential oils that can leave you smelling fresh all day.

For our picks, we looked for the most effective deodorants that are also free of harsh chemicals, parabens, and phthalates. These all-natural antiperspirants, including a top-rated option from Lume, use hardworking plant-based ingredients designed to stop odor-causing bacteria, absorb wetness, and soothe skin. The result is a deodorant that’s tough enough to stand up to heavy workouts, yet gentle enough to wear on sensitive skin.

The best deodorants for men and women are easy to apply and won’t irritate your underarms or other sensitive areas. These all-natural options will keep you smelling fresh and feeling confident, no matter how much you move.

This natural, vegan, and aluminum-free deodorant has a light coconut fragrance that’s both refreshing and clean. It’s formulated with movement in mind, and is also available unscented if you don’t want to layer on scents. This natural deodorant is a favorite among many of our editors, and a top-rated product by dermatologists. It also has a smooth finish that glides on smoothly and won’t stain clothing.

In addition to your medical expenses, you may also be entitled to compensation for pain and suffering. Noneconomic damages include emotional distress, loss of companionship, and diminished quality of life.

They can also help you deal with insurance companies. The insurance company will try to minimize the amount they pay out on your claim, and a good lawyer knows how to counter these tactics. They can also help you get the compensation you need to cover your medical bills, lost wages, and other financial losses.

Ask friends and family who they used, and look for online reviews. This will help you find an attorney who has the skills and experience to handle your case. You also want to choose an attorney who is easy to communicate with and will answer your questions promptly and thoroughly.

It is also important to choose an attorney who has a strong record of success in obtaining compensation for injured motorcyclists. This is usually measured by the number of settlements and verdicts won on behalf of their clients. An attorney should also be able to provide you with client testimonials and proof of their previous successes.

A reputable motorcycle accident law firm will have the resources to investigate the cause of the crash and file all appropriate insurance claims. These may include the liability policies of the at-fault driver, the biker’s own um/sum coverage if necessary, and the insurance coverage of any construction companies that might have contributed to the accident.

Many people who are involved in motorcycle accidents suffer from serious injuries that can impact their quality of life. They may be unable to work, and may need long-term physical or mental care. In these cases, the at-fault party should be held responsible for compensating the victim for their losses. This includes medical expenses, lost wages, and the cost of rehabilitative services.

In some cases, the at-fault party’s actions are so shocking that they may be required to pay punitive damages in addition to compensatory damages. Examples of gross negligence include drunk driving, road rage, and operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs.

The legal team at the New York City office of David Resnick & Associates, PC, is dedicated to building a professional relationship with each client through consistent communication. They have a wealth of experience and knowledge in handling motorcycle accident cases, as well as other personal injury matters. They are available for a free consultation to discuss your legal needs.

Cost

Choosing the right motorcycle accident lawyer can save you money in the long run. Many attorneys work on a contingency basis, meaning they don’t charge anything upfront. In exchange for this arrangement, they get a percentage of the final compensatory award. This fee structure is typically discussed during the free initial consultation.

During the consultation, it’s important to bring all of your saved information. This includes witness contact information, photos, and videos of the accident. Also, it’s a good idea to have your medical records available. These will help the attorney build a strong case on your behalf.

One of the most important things that you can do after a motorcycle accident is seek immediate medical attention. This will ensure that any injuries are properly diagnosed and treated. In addition, you should keep all receipts from your doctor and any other related expenses. Having these documents will make it easier for your lawyer to calculate the total value of your losses.

In most cases, motorcycle accident lawyers will file a police report and request copies of all relevant documentation and records. They will then use this evidence to negotiate with the insurance company. They will also prepare to take the case to court, if necessary. This process requires a lot of work, including late nights and rescheduling other obligations.

There are two possible outcomes in a motorcycle accident case: a settlement or a trial. A settlement is generally less expensive than a trial, but your lawyer will advise you of the best options for your specific situation.

A motorcycle accident attorney’s job is to secure a maximum payout for their client. They can do this by filing a police limits demand, which is an offer to the at-fault party’s insurance coverage limit. In addition, they can pursue non-economic damages for pain and suffering.

Some of the most common forms of compensation for a motorcycle accident include medical bills, lost income, property damage, and pain and suffering. These costs can be very expensive, especially when a person is seriously injured. Fortunately, most insurance companies are willing to settle for a fair amount, but it’s important to have an experienced motorcycle accident lawyer on your side.
